EMDR Certification
“If you’re going to live, leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that can’t be erased.”
The major differences between EMDR Basic Training and becoming EMDR Certified is feeling more competent and confident.
EMDR Certification feels like a giant leap above EMDR Basic Training. It’s comparable to getting your driver’s education and your driver’s license.
After supporting clients with EMDR Therapy, you realize that your client’s don’t flow through the protocol as smoothly as the therapists you worked with during your Basic Training practicum. What do you do with those clients? You want to learn more than the basics so you can better serve the unique needs of your clients, safely and effectively, while adhering to EMDRIA‘s standards of excellence.
If you’ve completed your EMDR Basic Training with an EMDRIA Approved Trainer, I invite you to consider journeying with me towards your EMDR Certification: A special credential presided over by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
EMDR Certification is evidence of your level of expertise, skillset and integrity in delivering EMDR Therapy. If you’re working in an organization, EMDR Certification demonstrates to leadership that you’re a valued, advanced practitioner. If you’re in private practice, EMDR Certification communicates to your clients that they’re receiving competent care and it enables you to stand out amongst your peers.

EMDR
Consultation
FAQ
-
10 hours of group consultation, 5 hours of individual consultation, demonstrations & materials, core competency checklist and connections with EMDR colleagues.
-
The group consultation occurs once a month over the span of 10 months. The group participants choose the dates that are available to them. Once the group is complete, the therapist will have accrued 10 group and 5 individual hours. The therapist then completes the remaining 5 individual hours in 1×1 sessions with Julie (additional cost) - presenting one client case demonstrating their proficiency in the 3 prong, 8 phase protocol. While there is no required time frame to certify, it is up to the therapist to schedule the remaining 5 hours to present your case for certification. Technically you could complete your EMDR Certification requirements within a year.
-
Each month has a dedicated topic that mirrors the journey you take with your clients. Acquiring client history, organizing it according to the AIP and identifying the memory network to target. Preparing your client for history taking, explaining trauma & how EMDR works and stabilizing your client using: calm place, container, dissociative table and RDI. Presenting Assessment, Desensitization, Reprocessing, Installation, Body Scan, Closure and Reevaluation Phases with a client. Walking through future template with a present trigger and covering your protocol of choice for extra practice.
-
The group consultation is $1000 CAD plus 5% GST (payable in full). The remaining 5 hours of 1×1 consultation is $800 CAD plus 5% GST. (payable per hourly session.) The total investment for the certification program is $1800 CAD plus 5% GST.
-
My hourly rate is $160 CAD plus 5% GST. You’ll need 5 additional hours beyond the 10 group and 5 individual hours obtained in group to total the 20 hours required for certification. It will cost an additional $800 CAD plus 5% GST. The total investment to become EMDR certified would be $1800 CAD plus GST. To obtain a letter of recommendation for certification from me, you’ll need to demonstrate your proficiency in the 3 prong 8 phase protocol. Feedback will be given along the 10 months+, so you’ll know what, if anything, you’ll need to improve before receiving your letter.
